Prof. Dr. Rob Nelissen, Inventor

Prof.dr. Rob (R.G.H.H.) Nelissen studied medicine at Leiden University and obtained his doctorate from the same university. After his training as an orthopedic surgeon (Leiden) in 1993, he did a total joint fellowship in the US (UCLA, CA and Toledo, OH). In 1994 he became a staff member at the Department of Orthopedics Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). In 2000 he became deputy trainer. In 2005 he was appointed professor of Experimental Orthopedics. (Migration = Integration. In 2006 he became head of the department and trainer of the Orthopedics department. In 2010 he also became head of the larger department of Orthopedics, Rehabilitation Medicine and Physiotherapy at the LUMC. In 2016 he became Medical Delta Professor, affiliated with TU Delft at the 3ME department, from 2014-2016 he was vice-chairman (Quality portfolio) of the NOV (Dutch Orthopedic Association) and from 2016-2018 chairman of the NOV.
